"Just as a small fire is extinguished by the storm whereas a large fire is enhanced by it - likewise a weak faith is weakened by predicament and catastrophes whereas a strong faith is strengthened by them." - Viktor E. Frankl
During a recent period of rest and relaxation I took a considerable amount of time to read, reflect and write in my journal. One of the articles I read was an interview with comedian and TV superstar Tim Allen. Of all the questions he answered, one stood out above all others.
The question posed to him was about his style of comedy. “What makes you funny?” asked the interviewer. His response was short sweet and to the point.
“Commitment to the joke.” he replied. He went on to say that commitment to the joke included moving right on to the next joke whether the first joke bombed or not.
What an awesome point. The same things apply in our everyday pursuits, especially the pursuit of excellence.
First we must commit to our goal, completely commit. That’s a tall order for some people today. The example set forth by celebrities and sports stars is not to honor commitments, contractual or otherwise. It’s time to get back to basics gang; back to some core practices that are critical to success in any millennia.
Also, Tim mentioned a key point; keep moving right along. Don’t sit back and wait. When you do something do it with all your might, with all your being.
Basic Law of the Universe (or Newtonian Physics)-
A body at rest tends to stay at rest; a body in motion tends to stay in motion.
No matter the outcome you continue moving forward toward your dreams. Of course, evaluate your progress, but keep moving!
Life is a game to be played, not watched.
Champions are made in the ring not from the cheap seats.
Stay in the game, keep moving.
So your choice is to Show Up, Suit Up & Step Up! And that choice is uniquely yours.
Your success is waiting...
