"Mind is indeed the Builder... what is held in the act of mental vision becomes a reality in the material experience. We gradually build to that image created within our own mental being." - Edgar Cayce
So week #2 is mid-way complete and I thought week #1 was powerful.
When I began this process I made the commitment to be a clean slate, a "tabula rasa" for you Latin language lovers. My mind had become so encumbered with "knowledge" and "experience" I wasn't picking a particular set of tools and using them, just adding more stuff to the overflowing cup.
I drew on something I had said to a martial arts friend of mine when I began learning his system, "Teach me like I'm a beginner" I said. "I want to learn from the beginning, don't assume I know just teach me like I'm a white belt." When I stepped up to the MKMMA2015 those words were ringing in my ear.
The exercises during this week's webinar pushed me out of stagnation in my thinking. One exercise took me to a new level of focus. I was asked to write down a list of seven things...with my non-dominant hand, in this case the left. At first I thought it be relatively easy. After all, I'm a coordinated guy......maybe not so coordinated....
The concentration required for me to write a total of 12 different words on 7 lines astonished me. In my mind I was making an "e" properly and in reality I was struggling to keep the pen on the paper, then it was backward, then it was tilted and it looked like Chinese characters!
I learned something about myself -
#1 - emptying the cup can be fun
#2 - with focus and determination I can get the job done
#3 - letting go of my ego allows me to learn and make progress
More lessons are sure to follow in the coming 24 weeks. Stay tuned for play-by-play updates as I continue on this journey of self-discovery with the Master Key MasterMind Alliance.
